Frequently Asked Questions
What is the TCCEA?
The Texas Chamber of Commerce Energy Association is a cooperative made up of Chambers from across the state of Texas. These Chambers have joined together to assist their members on energy related matters. TCCEA helps reduce the cost of Texas commerce by advocating for lower energy rates and educating Texas businesses on energy procurement.
How are the Chambers of Commerce involved?
The TCCEA-affiliated Chambers understand businesses can increase their bottom line in two ways: increase revenue or lower expenses. The Chambers have always been a tremendous resource in helping their members increase revenue by organizing networking events and offering advertising opportunities. Now they have decided to help on the other front by looking for ways to decrease the monthly expenses their members are faced with month after month.
By assisting their members with both sides of the equation, the Chambers add even more value to their members than when revenue is the sole focus.
How much am I likely to save on my electricity costs?
The average Chamber member saves over 40% on their monthly electricity expenses, with some saving over 60%. The savings are substantial and immediate, and vary based on your location, load factor and amount of usage. You can receive an estimate of what your savings would be by calling us at 214-550-0940. Please have a recent electric bill handy when you call us.
What does it cost me to participate in the program?
As a member of an affiliated Chamber of Commerce, there is no cost to you.
How do I get started?
It's very easy to get started. Either call us at 214-550-0940 or enter your contact information here to have your local representative call you. After speaking with you, we will email you your Chamber-specific packet of information. Simply fill out one page from the packet and fax it back to us along with a recent copy of an electric bill.
Can I switch electricity providers without having to pay a deposit?
Absolutely. It is actually quite rare to have to pay a deposit for commercial electricity. For residential electricity, there will not be a deposit needed if you have good credit. Even with poor/no credit history, there are many ways to obtain no deposit electricity for your personal residence. Just call us, and we can walk you through it.
What else can I do to lower my monthly electric bill?
We have put together an energy savings guide to help you reduce the amount of electricity your business uses.
